Comprehensive eye exams are performed for all ages including infants and seniors. A basic eye examination involves the evaluation of the visual system from the visual acuity, eye teaming and tracking, focusing ability, peripheral vision, and the health of the entire eye (inside and out). Comprehensive exams also include dilation to thoroughly examine the internal structures and health of the eyes. Glasses prescriptions are generated and given when appropriate.
Contact Lens Evaluation, Fitting and Follow-up care is a separate exam and procedure from the Comprehensive Eye Exam. Specialized testing is done to help the patient achieve successful contact lens wear. Trial lenses are used to determine vision, fit, comfort, and eye health. Follow-up care is performed to verify the appropriateness of the contact lens, solution system and replacement schedule. Any problems experienced are then addressed with alternative products and new trials are dispensed. Successful completion of the Contact Lens Evaluation, Fitting and Follow-up care process results in a Contact Lens Prescription. Our Contact Lens Evaluation, Fitting and Follow-up care process includes 6 months of unlimited visits.
Our office is able to fit all types of soft and gas permeable contact lenses and Dr. Yang’s passion is fitting unconventional contact lenses for special needs. For example, fitting Scleral lenses for patients with diseased or damaged corneas or dry eyes intolerant of conventional lenses; Ortho K lenses as a reversible alternative to LASIK; multifocal lenses to improve reading ability; Daily Disposable lenses for occasional users and children. If you can explain the need, Dr. Yang will work with you to provide a solution.
